Tables

What's covered?

Originally this topic was just about creating preformatted tables in earlier versions of RoboHelp. Then I needed a table where the rows could be sorted each time the user clicked on a column heading and that had alternate coloured rows. It took a while to set that up so I expanded the scope.

RoboHelp 8 introduced a Table Editor to create CSS based tables. Whilst it is not the most intuitive interface, CSS based tables have many advantages.

How to create preformatted tables in RoboHelp

These pages are not applicable for RoboHelp 8 or above where the table editor should be used. See About RoboHelp 8 and the RoboHelp Tour.

Sort tables with an arrow or an image showing the sort order

Sort tables without an arrow showing the sort order and / or alternate coloured rows

Highlighting table rows on mouseover. See Snippet 39

I have not tested these methods with tables created using the table editor introduced in RoboHelp 8. See the RoboHelp Tour.
