Beach
The beach with beautiful golden sand and crystal clear water is only 5-10 minutes walk away. It is about 2-3km long and is ideal for a romantic evening walk while watching the setting of the midnight sun. Although swimming and sunbathing is not common amongst the handful of local people, for those who are used to swimming in colder waters, the beach is ideal for a refreshing swim in the ocean.
If you rent a horse it is great fun to ride along the beach or even let the horse swim a little.

Fishing
Hotel Latrabjarg can provide an exclusive fishing licence for their nearby privately owned lake or private beach.
You can either catch the delicious 2-3 pound excellent fish from very clean waters or just enjoy watching the sea trout jump up only 2-3 meters from the sandy beach. Sea trout makes an excellent meal either grilled or boiled. By arrangement, we can cook the fish for you.
Fishing tours on a boat in the fjord can also be arranged.
Golf
There is a golf course with 9 holes in beautiful surroundings in Patreksfjordur, which is about 30 minutes drive from Hotel Latrabjarg.
Touring
Although not all metalled, most of the roads are accessible to ordinary cars. You can either follow the West Fjords mini circle or we can suggest other trips for you.
Hiking
The area is great for hiking. In early 1900 and before, people used to mark walking paths by "guards" made by stones and there are great walking paths between the valleys and over the passes and mountains. There is always something new to explore and new sights to see.
Horse Riding
Horse rent is available at Hotel Latrabjarg and the area is great for riding.
Outdoor Swimming
Heated outdoor swimming pools can be found in the nearby towns of Patreksfjordur and Talknafjordur. There you can also enjoy outdoor spa pools that are heated to comfortable 38 degrees. Natural hot springs, ideal for bathing can also be found in the area.
