Updating
If you use the General Journal Entry (GIP) program to make changes after printing the register, you must reprint the register for audit trail purposes.
When you run the register, the program verifies that:
All accounts are valid; that is, the accounts are set up in the GL Account Maintenance (GMM) program and have an active status.
All dates are within open periods.
The debits equal credits for a consolidation code and period.
If errors exist, the program displays a message on the screen and prints the message on the register. You can use the General Journal Entry (GIP) program to correct errors.
