Background: Component Shortage Report

Use the Component Shortage Report (MOSL) program to print a report that shows manufacturing orders that were released with a component shortage or could not be released because of a shortage of components. See Road Map for work flow.

If you release or attempt to release an order that has a shortage with the Order Release Selection (MRR) program, that program launches the Component Shortage Report. If you run this report from the menu, the reports shows the shortages from the last time that you ran the Order Release Selection program.

The report includes this information if you sort by component:

  • Component number

  • Component description

  • Buyer

  • Planner

  • Remote branch

  • Parent item number

  • ECL (engineering change level)

  • Parent item description

The report includes this information if you sort by parent item:

  • Parent item number

  • ECL (engineering change level)

  • Parent description

  • Component number

  • Component description

The report includes this information regardless of the sort order:

  • Order type: PLN: Planned order, REQ: Requisition

  • Rel: Y: Released, N or blank: Not Released

  • Order number assigned to the released order

  • Due date

  • Quantity required

  • Quantity available: Quantity on hand  - Quantity committed

  • Quantity on hand

  • Soft?: Y: Order was not released due to shortage, N: Order was released despite shortage

If you selected the Show purchase orders? Program option and purchase orders exist, the report includes this information:

  • Purchase order number

  • Line number on the PO

  • Vendor number

  • Vendor name

  • Date wanted

  • Date promised

  • Quantity ordered

  • Quantity received to-date

If you selected the Show manufacturing orders? Program option and manufacturing orders exist, the report includes this information:

  • Manufacturing order number

  • Due date

  • Quantity ordered

  • Quantity received
