Assign a Serial Number to an Unassigned Tool

When you click Reassign in the Tool Activity Maintenance (MTA) program, you can assign a tool's serial number to reported labor for a tool not assigned to the work center.

The program displays these fields for the selected tool:

Selected: This tool is selected to be assigned
Blank: This tool is not selected

Br

The manufacturing branch that processed the order

Serial number

The serial number of the crib tool item

Wh

The code of the warehouse where this item is stocked

Bin loc

The primary bin location of this item

  1. Click Sel to the left of the tool number you want to assign. Clicking Sel again reverses selection.

  2. Click Exit.
    The tool is now assigned to the work center and the Control no column displays its serial number.

  3. Click Exit.

  4. Enter another work center number or exit the program.
