Transfer a Sales Quote to a Live Order

When you click the Transfer in the EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance program, the program prompts:

Field Name

Type / Max Length

Action / Description

One-step order?

Optional

Select to transfer this quote as a confirmed and shipped order. See One-Step Invoice Entry.

Auto obligate two-step?

Optional

Select to auto-obligate the order.

If you select to auto-obligate and a controlled item's settings do not permit obligation, the exception is emailed to the operator.

If an error occurs after you selected Transfer, the user that initiated the transfer is sent an email that indicates that the sales order could not be created correctly in its entirety. Any sales order lines created up to that point are cancelled and the order on which they were created is closed.  The quote can then be maintained as required and transferred again (i.e., to create a new sales order).

Override line numbers?

Optional

Select to specify the starting line number and line number increment used on the sales order or leave blank to use the line numbers from the sales quote.

Note
Line number override is not available for configure product order lines.

Starting line number

Conditional

If you selected Override line numbers, enter the line number you want assigned to the first order line.

Line increment

Conditional

If you selected Override line numbers, enter the increment to use as line numbers are assigned.

For example, if you entered 1 as the starting line number and enter 10 as the increment, subsequent order lines will be numbered 11, 21, etc.

Click OK to transfer the sales quote to a sales order or click Cancel. Lines with zero quantity are not transferred but are retained on the quote for reference.

A log of orders transferred is emailed to the operator.
