Approve Transactions

Use the Approvals Signoff (APPV) program to approve transactions that require your approval. See Background and Road Map for more information.

Note
If you have approvals pending, you may also access this program by clicking the Approvals button on the menu screen.

The program lists the orders, items or invoices that require your approval. The Print in summary or detail program determines whether you see the summarized or detailed display when you enter the program. Clicking the Sum/Dtl button toggles the display.

Aprv

A check mark indicates you want to approve the line

Order/Item/ECO

Transaction identifier (e.g., the order number, the item number, vendor and invoice number, etc.)

Ln/ECL

The line number on an order; the engineering change level for a bill of material

Included in the detail display only

Reason for approval

Approval required or the reason your approval is needed (e.g., the order amount exceeded the limit or the item was not approved by QA).

Description

Vendor name, customer name, ECO title, or item description

Due date

The date the approval is due

Approver

Primary: Primary approver
Alternate: Alternate approver
Manager
: Manager assigned to the approval

Date/Time added

The date and time the approval was requested

Review your options for this program

Click Prog opts. See step 2.

Approve a transaction

Highlight the line and click Select or double click the line. A check mark indicates the line is selected for approval. Click Select again to de-select the line.

Switch between the summary and detail inquiry displays

Click Sum/Dtl.

Display information about the transaction

Highlight the line and click Detail. The program drills to the appropriate inquiry. If Allow maintenance from approvals? was selected in System Options Maintenance: Enterprise Options, drills run maintenance rather than inquiry programs. Click OK to return to this program.

Enter or change approval remarks

Highlight the line and click Remarks.

Display approval status

Highlight the line and click Approvals. Click OK to return to this program.

Display transactions pending your approval

Click Pending. See Display Approvals Pending.

Select/de-select all lines for approval

Click All lines. A check mark on each line indicates it is selected for approval. Click All lines again to de-select them.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

  1. Click Prog opts to review your options. To change them:

    1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries.

    2. Click the Sort tab to set sort order.

    3. Click the Selection tab to select specific records.

    4. Click the Program tab to set these options:

Select S Print in summary or D Print in detail to select the display when you enter the program. The Sum/Dtl button toggles the summary and detail display.

Select a specific user or leave blank to include all users.

    1. Click Save to save these options for future use.

    2. Click Refresh to redisplay current options.

    3. Click OK to apply these options or click Cancel to exit without applying them.
