Road Map: Import Data

Use the Import Data (MAPIT) program to import bills of material or shipping information from a carrier's manifest system.

You should run this program: None required

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select a date display format for your enterprise, Branch Maintenance (TBM) to select a date display format for your branch, or User Maintenance (UIM) to select a date display format for an individual user.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices that you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

  • Use System Options Maintenance (XM) to set the appropriate import options for bills of material and/or manifest drop files.

  • Format Mapping Maintenance (XMAP) to map the import file format.

After you run this program

Process imported data as if it were entered manually (i.e., use Bill of Material Maintenance (MPS) to maintain bills of material, use Shipping Confirmation (OC) to maintain shipments, etc.)
