Add a Label Program

Use the Label Program Maintenance (TDLM) program to add a custom program to print address, shipping, and item labels for selection in the Document Output Parameters Maintenance (TDOC), Mfg Order Control Number Print Selection (WOCS), and System Options Maintenance (XM) programs. See Background and Road Map for more information.

Note
The ADL and OSL labels are provided for your use and cannot be modified or deleted. If you opt to view their settings, the program temporarily changes to query mode. Exit and enter the program to re-display the Add, Delete, and Copy buttons.

  1. Click Add. The program prompts Label code.

  2. Enter a code (10 alphanumeric characters maximum) for a label program selection in the Document Output Parameters Maintenance program.

  3. Enter data in these fields:

Enter the name of the label program.

If using Report Generator, enter *REPORTS.

Enter Y to print a label for each item ordered.

For custom label programs, you can use this field to pass additional parameters to the application.

Wait for response?

Select if your custom program needs to pause while updating a file or leave blank if it does not.

Send queue file as input?

Select if you want to send the print queue record to the label program or leave blank if you do not.

With the assistance of PowerShift support, a custom program can used to attach a file when a document (e.g., sales orders, invoices, statements) is output to email.

Select if you are setting up a custom program to attach a file to a PowerShift document. If you select this option, you must also select Wait for response.

Click OK. The program prompts Label code. Enter another code or leave blank to exit.

Exit without adding this program

Click Cancel.

Update the program record

Click Apply.

Delete this code

Click Delete. See Delete.

Note

You cannot delete a record unless it has been saved; use Cancel.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:

Display the selected label program

Click Select.

Display label program from a specific program

Click Restart. The program prompts Label program. Enter the first program you want to display or leave blank to begin with the first program in the file.

Print the label program listing

Click Print. See Print.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Exit the program

Click Exit.
