Select User Categories

When you click Categories in the User Maintenance (UIM) program, a list of the user categories set up in User Category Maintenance  (XUC) is displayed:

Selected: If user type is I (include) this user will be able to run the programs included in this category; if user type is E (exclude), this user will not be able to run programs in this category.

Blank: This category is not applicable to  this user.

Choose the appropriate options:

  1. Click Sel to the left of a category to apply it to this user.  If the user type for this user is I, the programs in this category are included; if user type is E, the programs in this category are excluded. To remove a check mark (so that the category is not applied to the user ID), click Sel.

  2. (Optional) Highlight a category and click Programs to view the programs set up for this category or click Return to go back to step 1.

  3. Choose the appropriate options:

Click Prog opts. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Start the display from a specific category

Click Restart. The program prompts User category. Enter the first category you want to display or leave blank to begin with the first category in the file

Display the list in reverse order

Click For/Rev. Click again to display in the original order.

Display all categories or only selected categories

Click Selected/All.

Accept the data and return to the previous screen

Click OK.
