Road Map: Morgue Serial Numbers

Use the Morgue Serial Numbers (MRG) program to morgue a serial number or reverse a serial number's morgued status. See Background for more information.

Before you run this program each time

You will most likely run these programs:

  • Controlled Item Inquiry (MCHI) to display transactions for a serial or lot control number.

  • Receiver Maintenance (IRC) to receive returned (RMA) items into your branch if you are using direct-to-stock receiving.

AND conditionally

Receiving and Inspection (IRI) to enter inspection results for items that require inspection or to receive if you are using dock-to-stock receiving.

  • WIP Movement (WIPM) to enter quantities completed, scrap parents or components, and update labor costs.

OR

Labor Entry (LLE) to enter actual hours, overtime hours, pieces produced, and pieces scrapped by employee.

OR

Labor Import (LEI) to import regular and overtime hours, good pieces, and scrapped parents from an ASCII file.

  • (Optional) Manufacturing Order Maintenance (MIM) to close a manufacturing order.

  • Control Number Inquiry (SNQ) to display basic information and inventory-related transaction activity for an item's control number.

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Control Numbers Option) to define the format of serial and lot control numbers by branch or for the enterprise.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select a date display format for your enterprise, Branch Maintenance (TBM) to select a date display format for your branch, or User Maintenance (UIM) to select a date display format for an individual user.

  • Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) to enter an item, select S or M in the Serial/Lot field, set the Pre-assign ctrl no? field, and set the starting number if you control numbers by item.

  • Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) to set up items for your branch.

  • Branch Maintenance (TBM) to set up branches.

  • Morgue Inventory Codes Maintenance (TMOR) to set up morgue codes.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices that you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.
