Items Stocked in Multiple Locations

  1. Enter data in the fields that display:

Enter the lot number you want to assign to this item.

If you did not select the Block auto-assignment of control nos? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Control Number Options), you can leave this field blank to have the system assign them using the control numbering system you set up.

WH and/or bin location

Accept the displayed warehouse and bin location or enter a different warehouse and bin location. You cannot leave both warehouse and bin location blank.

The displayed locations are entries in the Primary whse and Primary bin loc fields in the item's record in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program.

For a transfer, you must enter the warehouse and bin unless you selected the Rcv to same wh/bin as sending branch? option in the Systems Options Maintenance (XM) program (Inventory Control Options).

The quantity of the receipt awaiting assignment of a lot number.

If this is a shelf life item, enter the expiration date of the lot received. Leaving it blank defaults it to the current date plus the item's shelf life in days.

  1. Click OK to accept the entered information. The process is repeated until the full receipt quantity is accounted for to enable you to receive multiple lot numbers.

Enter the first serial number you want to assign. The first number in a range must end in a numeric. If you enter a single serial number, it does not need to end in a numeric.

If you did not select the Block auto-assignment of control nos? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Control Number Options), you can leave this field blank to have the system assign them using the numbering system you set up.

Ending serial number

Enter the last serial number in a range. Leave blank if the system is assigning numbers.

This entry is used to validate the quantity in the quantity in this group.  The starting and ending serial numbers must represent the group quantity based on an increment of one.
