What's covered?
Not being able to go to Kaikoura because of the earthquake closing it off, this stop was arranged.
17 October
We stopped en route at the Bealey Hotel at Bealey Spur just before Arthur's Pass for coffee and then continued. It rained most of the way until we got over the pass and then the weather was good for the rest of the day. Indeed the evening was glorious.
On arrival, we went out for a light lunch and a wander around. In the evening we eat in the hotel.

This was originally a branch of the Bank of New Zealand. I was amused by the way they had painted over the letters.
