Display Material History

Use the Material History Inquiry (MHI) program to display all transactions that affect the inventory of an item. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter an item number or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list. The program displays the item number you selected followed by its description and stocking unit of measure.

    Transactions are listed:

The branch whose inventory this transaction affected

Trans date

The User transaction date specified in Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) when the user made the transaction

Type

A code for the type of transaction, for example, P/O for purchase order or S/O for sales order. See Type Codes for a list of all type codes and their descriptions.

Order no

The order number associated with the transaction or a notation such as:

  • PARENT: The item was received without a manufacturing order.

  • COMPONENT: The item was backflushed from inventory when its parent was received workorderless.

  • CONSIGNMNT: The item was received into consignment inventory without an order.

  • MOVETOSTOCK: The was item was moved from consignment to on hand inventory by Move Consigned Inventory.

Control number

The serial or lot number if controlled or FLOORSTOCK notation

Range

* (an asterisk) indicates that the item has a serial number range (displayed if you selected the Display serialized items as a range? program option)

Qty type

The type of inventory (i.e., on hand, floor stock or consignment) impacted by the transaction and displayed in the Prev bal, Trans qty and New balance

Prev bal

The quantity on hand, in floor stock, or in consignment inventory before the transaction

Trans qty

The quantity added to or subtracted from on hand, in floor stock, or consignment inventory by the transaction

New balance

The quantity on hand, in floor stock, or in consignment inventory after the transaction

Wh

The warehouse the item was issued from or received to

Bin loc

The bin location the item was issued from or received to

ECL

The item's engineering change level

Date/Time stamp

The system date and time when the transaction occurred

User name

The person who posted the transaction or if the user is no longer a valid user in the system, the program displays: Initials: [user id]

Prgm

The program that created the transaction; see Background

Type description

Type description; see Type Codes for a list of all descriptions

Line/Ship no

The line number or shipment number

Reference

The reference recorded by the system or the reference/remarks entered by the user when the transaction was made (the display field is truncated to 20 characters; 40 characters are recorded in the Material History (MH) file)

Actual cost

The actual unit cost at the time of this transaction

Average cost

The average unit cost at the time of this transaction

Standard cost

The standard unit cost at the time of this transaction

Scr/Adj cd

The inventory adjustment code or scrap adjustment code from work in progress or labor entry

Qty scrapped

The quantity scrapped

Tot invty

Total inventory (On hand + floor stock + consignment)

Review your options for this program

Click Prog opts. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries. See step 3.

Print the transaction listing

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Go to a related program

Click Jump. See Jump.

Display the total transaction quantity and the subtotals if you selected the Subtotal? field for a sort option

Click Totals. Click Totals again to redisplay details.

Display the order for a transaction

Highlight the line and click Order or double click the line. The information displayed depends on the transaction type (see Order Drills below). Click OK to return to this program.

Display the source of the demand

Highlight the line and click Demand order. The information displayed depends on the transaction type. Press F1 to display help. Click OK to return to this program.

View related information

Click View. See The View Button.

Specify a different item

Click OK. See step 1.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

  1. Click Prog opts to review your options. To change them:

    1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries for more information.

    2. Click the Sort tab to set sort order.

    3. Click the Selection tab to select specific records.

    4. Click the Program tab to set this program specific option:

Select to display a single line for a range of serialized transactions or leave blank to list each on a separate line.

    1. Click Refresh to display selected options.

    2. Click Save to save these options for future use.

    3. Click OK to apply these options or click Cancel to exit without applying them.
