Move a Tool to a Work Center

Use the Move Tool to Work Ctr (RFTOOLW) program to move a tool to a work center. See Background and Road Map for more information.

Note
To move a tool to a work center, the work center must have a warehouse location in Work Center Maintenance (WCM), and it must have this tool assigned to it.

Scan data for these fields:

Field Name	Type / Max Length	Action / Description
Branch	Required 4 alphanumeric	Accept your default branch code or scan a branch code in your inventory group.
Item	Required 24 alphanumeric	Scan the number of the tool you want to move to a work center. The item number must have a system-assigned location. A valid entry displays the item's description.
Ser	Conditional 16 alphanumeric	If the item is serial controlled, scan the serial number. The program displays the tool's current warehouse location.
To WC/Mach	Required 4 alphanumeric	Scan the receiving work center or machine number. Note There can be no other serial number for this tool item already active in the work center.

Choose the appropriate options:

To	Do This
Save entries and scan another move	Scan Y.
Cancel the move and scan another move	Scan N.
Scan a reference notation	Scan R and then scan a remark (15 alphanumeric) for example, sales demand, space issue, or your initials.
