Display Menus and Programs
The Main menu lists categories of programs, like Inventory, Purchasing, and Manufacturing. Click a category button to display programs in that category. For example, click Inventory or Executive Information.
Most menu buttons have an underlined accelerator or hot key that enable you to run them from the keyboard. Pressing Alt and the hot key is a keyboard shortcut. For example, press Alt-I to display the Inventory menu or Alt-E to display the Executive Information menu. You do not need to hold down the Shift key.
The menu title displays in the upper-left corner and the menu name displays the lower-left corner of menus. You can also see the menu's title and name by hovering the mouse over the button. For example, if you hover over the Executive Information button, Executive Information menu (E) displays.
Whether you click a button or enter a keyboard shortcut, the next menu screen that you see displays buttons that run programs on the left and buttons for submenus in the center column. Click a program button to run that program or click a submenu button to display additional program buttons.
Press Enter to return to the Main menu.
Search for a Menu or Program
To look for a program or menu, click the Lookup button or enter MENUI at the menu prompt to find a specific program.
Run a Program
There are multiple ways to run a program:
Click the button of the program you want to run.
If you prefer to use the keyboard, enter the name of the program in the select field. You can display a program name by hovering the mouse over the button. The name appears in front of the program's title in the pop-up help; for example, IMBQ : Branch Item Inquiry. To run this program, you can enter IMBQ. You do not have to display the menu on which the program is listed. You can enter the program name in the select field on any screen.
Most buttons have an underlined accelerator or hot key. Pressing Alt and the hot key is a keyboard shortcut for a button action.
List the programs you use frequently in Favorites. Click Favorites and press F1 for help. When you have set up your favorites, you can double-click a program name to run that program. See Add Favorite Programs for more information.
Standard Buttons
The most frequently used buttons are anchored on the nav (nav is short for navigation) bar on the bottom line of program screens; buttons that perform program-specific functions are listed above the nav bar. See Standard Buttons.
