Favorite Programs

You can create a list of your favorite programs. The programs that you add to the list display in the window to the right of every menu screen. Double-click a program name on the list to launch that program.

If you are running programs that are new to you, adding them to your favorites list makes it easy to remember the new name. And you do not have to hunt for them on menus. You can also include QICLOOK and Report Generator reports, *SPOOL, and other utility programs that you run regularly.

The system orders your favorites list based on frequency of use. This means that the programs that you launch by double-clicking go to the top of the list. Clicking the program's menu button or entering the program name at the select field does not affect the order of the list.

Add Favorite Programs

Use the Menu Favorites Maintenance (MENUFAV) program to add and delete programs that you want to display on your personal Favorites menu. See Road Map for work flow.

  1. Click Add. The program prompts Favorite program.

  2. Enter the program that you want to add to your personal Favorites menu. For example, enter CSI for Customer Service Inquiry or OL for Sales Order Listing.

  3. Enter another favorite program or leave blank to exit add mode.

  4. (Conditional) Enter the name of a QICLOOK or Report Generator report:

    If you entered the name of a program that PowerShift does not recognize, these fields display. If you thought this was a program, press F10 and click Cancel.

    1. Enter data in these fields for the QICLOOK or Report Generator report:

For a Report Generator report, enter a COMMON string variable to be passed to the program and used in the report specification as the system variable SYS.COMMON$.

Click OK. Enter another program or leave the Favorite program field blank to exit.

Note
You cannot delete a record until it has been saved; use Cancel.

Note
You cannot display details of a program that the system recognizes; for example, Customer Maintenance (CM).

Display programs from a specific program

Click Restart. The program prompts Favorite program. Enter the first program you want to display or leave blank to begin with the first program in the file.

Print your favorite programs

Click Print. See Print.

Display the previous set of records in the file

Click Page up.

Display the next set of records in the file

Click Page down.

Exit the program

Click Exit.
