Merge Operation Sequences from Another Item

When you click Operations and then Merge in Routing Maintenance (RTM), you can merge another item's operation sequences into this routing.

Note
When you merge operations, notes are copied as well.

  1. The program prompts for Item number and RRL:

Field Name

Type / Max Length

Action / Description

Item number

Required
24 alphanumeric

Enter the number of the parent item whose routing you want to merge.

RRL

Optional
4 alphanumeric

Enter the routing revision level that you want to merge or leave blank to use the Current RRL in the item's record in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program.

Click OK to continue or Cancel to return to the list of operations.

  1. The routing header of the selected item and RRL is displayed. The program prompts for the operation sequences to merge:

    1. Enter the sequence number of the first operation you want in the Start field or leave blank to start with the first sequence.

    2. Enter the sequence number of the last operation in the End field or leave blank to end with the last sequence. If you want to merge only one operation sequence, enter the same sequence number in both fields.

Important!
If the sequences you are merging have the same numbers as sequences in the current routing, the merged sequences replace the existing sequences. Sequences that have different numbers are added.

The program return to the list of operations. See Add or Change an Operation.
