Road Map: Price Lookup

Use the Price Lookup (PLU) program to display a price for a specific customer and item. You can use this program to provide quotes and answer customer inquiries concerning price. The display also reports the pricing method that the pricing routine uses to calculate the price.

You should run these programs:

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Pricing Options) to set the Round prices to nearest cent? option for your enterprise or pricing branch.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Order Processing Options) to set the Populate cust item from item cross-ref? option for your branch.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select a date display format for your enterprise, Branch Maintenance (TBM) to select a date display format for your branch, or User Maintenance (UIM) to select a date display format for an individual user.

  • Program Options Maintenance (XROPT) to create a record for PLUI and set these options: Print record price detail?, See all prices in effect?, and See costs and markups?

  • Item Status Codes (TISM) to set item status codes that determine whether an item can be sold, purchased, and manufactured, and select the code in the item's record in Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) or Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) if the code is different for your branch.

  • Customer Maintenance (CM) to set up customer records.

  • Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) to set up items for your enterprise.

  • Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) to set up items for your branch.

  • Customer Item Maintenance (CIX) to create a cross-reference from a customer's item number to your item number.

  • Branch Maintenance (TBM) to set up branches.

  • Unit of Measure Codes Maintenance (TUM) to set up units of measure.

  • Price-Contract Maintenance (PCM) to enter price, discount, and contract records.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices that you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

After you run this program

  • Sales Order Maintenance (OE) to enter a sales order.

    OR

EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE) to enter a sales quotation.

OR

One-Step Invoice Entry (RE) to enter a new order, obligate the items ordered, create a shipment, and confirm the shipment in one-step.
