Road Map: ECO Maintenance

Use the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program to enter, change, or close an engineering change order (ECO). See Background for more information.

Before you run this program each time

You should run these programs: None required

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select a date display format for your enterprise, Branch Maintenance (TBM) to select a date display format for your branch, or User Maintenance (UIM) to select a date display format for an individual user.

  • (Optional) System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select the Approval notification device.

  • (Optional) Audit Trail Maintenance (XAT) to activate system logging of entries and changes.

  • Approval Hierarchy Maintenance (APPHM) to set up a hierarchy that determines the approval cycle for engineering change orders.

  • Approvals Maintenance (APPM) to set up approval cycles in the engineering change order approval hierarchy.

  • ECO Compliance Codes Maintenance (TECOM) to set up compliance codes that you can use for managing compliance requirements.

  • ECO Effectivity Codes Maintenance (TEIMP) to set up effectivity codes that you can use for implementing engineering change orders.

  • ECO Signoff Codes Maintenance (TESO) to add signoff codes that you can use for managing ECO signoffs.

  • ECO Change Type Maintenance (TETOC) to add type codes that you can use for managing changes to ECOs.

  • ECO Priority Codes (TEPR) to add type codes to set up for prioritizing engineering change orders.

  • ECO Rate Codes (TECORT) to add rate codes to use in engineering change orders.

  • ECO Risk Assessment Codes (TECORA) to set up codes to set up for managing risk in engineering change orders.

  • Reason Codes Maintenance (TRCM) to set up codes for the reason an engineering change order is closed.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • ECO Approval Inquiry APPCQ to display the status of engineering change orders (ECOs) that require approval and who needs to sign off.

  • ECO Implementation Approval Inquiry (APPLQ) to display the status of engineering change order (ECO) implementations that require approval and who needs to sign off.

  • Approvals Signoff (APPV) to approve transactions that require your approval.

  • ECO Print (ECOL) to print engineering change orders.

  • ECO Print Queue (ECOLPM) to process the queue for engineering change orders.

  • (Optional) Audit Trails (ATR) to print an audit trail report.
