Display Engineering Change Orders by Item

Use the ECOs By Item Inquiry (ECOI) program to display engineering change orders by parent or component item. See Background and Road Map for more information.

If you accessed this program from another program, skip step 1.

  1. Enter the item number or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item number from a list.

The program displays these fields for each item:

Field Name

Displays

ECO number

The engineering change order number that includes this parent or component item

Title

The title of the engineering change order

Prty

The code that indicates the engineering change order's level of priority

Status

The engineering change order approval status:

Approved
: All approval signoffs received
Closed by usr
: The user clicked Close ECO button
Implemented
: All implementation signoffs received
Pending apprv
: Not all approval signoffs received
Processed
: Based on the engineering change order status

New ECL

The new engineering change level created for this item

If you selected the Include where-used? program option, these fields

Parent item

The parent item number for a component (populated if you selected the Include where-used? program option)

Part des

A description for the component (populated if you selected the Include where-used? program option). New item - not on file displays if this is a new component entered in the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.

Action

The type of action required for the item as a result of the engineering change order (populated if you selected the Include where-used? program option):
Chg
: This engineering change order number changed this item
Del
: This engineering change order number deleted this item

Qty per assy

The quantity of this component required to assemble the parent item (populated if you selected the Include where-used? program option)

  1. (Optional) Click Prog opts to set your options:

    1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries for more information.

    2. Click the Program tab to set these program specific options:

Select to display cancelled or closed engineering change orders or leave blank to omit them.

Include processed ECOs?

Optional

Select to include processed (processed, but still open) engineering change orders or leave blank to omit them.

Include completed ECOs?

Select to include implemented (all signoffs completed) engineering change orders or leave blank to omit them.

Include where-used?

Optional

Select to display where-used information (parent item, part designator, action and quantity per assembly)

    1. Click Save to save these options for future use.

    2. Click OK to apply these options or click Cancel to exit without applying them.

  1. (Optional) Select the ECO number and click Detail. See Enter an Engineering Change Order for field descriptions.

    Click OK to return to this program.

  2. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK:

Display engineering change order detail

Click Detail. See Enter an Engineering Change Order. Click OK to return to this program.

Print the engineering change order listing

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Exit the engineering change orders for this item

Click Exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.
