Background: Project Indented Cost Report

Use the Project Indented Cost Report (PMIC) program to print a report that shows the material, labor, overhead, and outside service costs for each project quantity. See Road Map for work flow.

The report includes this information for each parent item:

  • Project number

  • Quote quantity

  • Project status

  • Parent item number and description

  • Parent item stocking unit of measure

  • Engineering Change Level

  • Customer number and name if the project is for a customer

The report includes this information for each component:

  • Component number

  • Component description

  • Stocking unit of measure

  • Level of the parent in relation to the component. For example, if a parent item is one level above the component in the product structure, the program displays the level notation ".1". If the parent is two levels above the component, the program display the level notation "..2".

  • Required quantity to build the parent items for this quantity estimate

  • Extended material: Standard material cost x Quantity per assy

  • Extended labor: Labor cost for this component
Note: Setup costs calculate based on the quoted quantity; as the quantity increases, the costs go down.

  • Extended overhead: Standard overhead cost x Quantity per assy

  • Extended service: Outside service cost for this component

  • Total component cost: Extended material + Labor + Overhead + Service

  • Quantity per assy: Quantity of this component required to build one parent item

  • Total component costs: Total extended material, labor, overhead, service, and total component cost

  • Incremental cost of parent: Incremental material cost + Incremental labor cost + Incremental overhead cost + Incremental outside service cost = Total incremental cost

  • Total costs: Total component +  Labor + Overhead + Service = Total cost of parent

Note
If you changed incremental costs or the bill of material since the last rollup, these costs will differ from those displayed when you run the Project Maintenance (PSM) program and click Inventory and then Item Cost.
