Activate Audit Trails

Use the Audit Trail Maintenance (XAT) program to activate logging of additions, changes, and deletions that users make to files. Information from audit trails is used in order change reports. See Background and Road Map for more information.

Note
Audit trails for a maximum of 90 files can be activated.

The program displays these fields:

Field Name

Displays

Active

A check mark indicates that audit trail tracking is active for this file.

Active file name

The file name; for example, C1A. See Background for a list of file names and the programs that maintain them.

File description

The file description; for example, Customer Master.

Date activated

The date audit trail tracking was activated.

Review your options for this program

Click Prog opts. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries.

Activate/de-activate audit trail tracking for a file

Highlight the line and click Select or double-click the line.

If audit trail tracking was not active (i.e., the check box in the Active column is blank), a check mark displays.

If audit trail tracking was active (i.e., the check mark is displayed in the Active column), the check mark is cleared. If an audit file exists, the program prompts to erase it.

Exit the program

Click Exit.
