What's covered?
The second stop on our journey from Melbourne to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road.
28 September
On Duncan's advice we detoured to Cape Otway and had an echidna sighting and two koala sightings with plenty of photos. Then it was on to the Twelve Apostles, or rather the seven that are left!
We had lunch at Port Campbell and then went straight on to Port Fairy. Oscars Waterfront Hotel is a lovely building and whilst it looks old, in fact it was built for private occupation in 1992.
Watching TV, the news told us of a statewide power outage in Southern Australia where we were due to move onto the following day. We fired off an email to Trailfinders as we were concerned that if on the following day the hotel could not accommodate us, then because of the time difference we would not be able to speak to them until too late. Trailfinders assured us that all would be well, which left it in the air. We decided we would wait until the morning and if the news was bad, we would make our own enquiries. It all turned out OK as the power did come back on.
We had dinner at Ramellas (Turkish) where we were served by Mia, studying to be a marine biologist with her final test the following day!
After an excellent breakfast the next day, we went for a short walk along the boardwalk before departing for Robe.
