Karikari 2016 |
What's covered?
The remaining few days were spent going across to the west side of North Island north of Auckland.
3 December
We were going to visit the factory that made the heat stand that Glennis and Yogi gave us but found it only opened Monday to Friday. As today's journey was short we left the main road and followed the Tourist Drive signs going via Whangaroa Bay for coffee. After rejoining the main road we went on to Mangonui where we went to the "World Famous Fish and Chip Shop" that had been recommended by Glennis. We had a very enjoyable fish and chip lunch for a very reasonable price.
Then we continued to our hotel, Peppers Carrington, on the Karikari Peninsula. It is a mix of a hotel and golf resort in lovely grounds and we had a view out to sea. Having had a meal at lunchtime, we found that dinner was included at this stop!
