Print 1099 Tax Forms to E-File
The 1099 Print to CSV File (N99F) program is designed to output a file that can be uploaded to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) via the “Information Returns Intake System” (IRIS) Taxpayer Portal. The IRIS portal requires that files are in CSV format and are compliant with a number of data rules.
The N99F program will attempt to filter vendor data to be compliant where it can safety do so or report data issues that must be corrected by the user before proceeding. For example, a common error we have seen is that a vendor’s country code is blank; country code must be specified in the vendor’s address for IRIS compliance.
Important!
In Output Device Maintenance (XDM), configure a CSV file device leaving the Quote string fields option blank.
The IRIS portal limits upload file size to 100 data records. If the file size limit is reached, N99F displays the last vendor processed; you should specify the vendor after that vendor as the "from" vendor and create a another file.
Be sure that the CSV file produced is not subjected to any subsequent or accidental data manipulation; for example, opening and then saving the file using Microsoft Excel will corrupt numeric values.
