Display General Ledger Statistics

When you click GL, the Executive Information Summary (EIS) program displays these statistics:

To use this inquiry, you must have selected subtypes for your GL accounts set up in the GL Account Maintenance (GMM) program, and selected your asset and liability accounts as either long term or current.

The Subtype field for the account record in the GL Account Maintenance (GMM) program determines which category of general ledger statistics updates when there is a net change to that account.

Assets	Month/period column: Net change for all asset accounts in the current period: Sum of balances of type A accounts Other columns: See below.
Current assets	Month/period column: Total value of all GL asset accounts for the current period: Sum of balances of type A accounts for which the Long term? field is blank Other columns: See below.
Liabilities	Month/period column: Net change for all liability accounts in the current period: Sum of balances of type L accounts Other columns: See below.
Current liabilities	Month/period column: Total value of all current liability accounts for the current period: Sum of balances of type L accounts for which the Long term? field is blank Other columns: See below.
Capital/equity	Month/period column: Net change for all capital accounts for the current /period: Sum of balances of type C accounts Other columns: See below.
Inventory	Month/period column: Total value of inventory for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype I accounts Other columns: See below.
Total revenue	Month/period column: Net change for all revenue accounts for the current period: Sum of balances of type R accounts Other columns: See below.
Total expenses	Month/period column: Net change for all expense accounts for the current period: Sum of balances of type E accounts Other columns: See below.
Total sales	Month/period column: Net change for sales for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype S accounts Other columns: See below.
Equity	Month/period column: Net change for equity accounts for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype E accounts Other columns: See below.
Fixed assets	Month/period column: Net change for fixed assets for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype F accounts Other columns: See below.
Cash	Month/period column: Total cash for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype C accounts Other columns: See below.
Accounts payable	Month/period column: Net change for accounts payable transactions for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype P accounts Other columns: See below.
Accounts receivable	Month/period column: Net change for accounts receivable transactions for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype R accounts Other columns: See below.
Cost of goods sold	Month/period column: Net change for cost of goods sold for the current period: Sum of balances of subtype G accounts Other columns: See below.

Choose the appropriate options:

Print the displayed data	Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.
Display accounts and transactions for the selected account type or subtype	Highlight the category and click Detail or double click the line. See Display GL Account Detail. Click OK to return to this screen. Note For certain categories, the detail is blank if you have not selected subtypes for the appropriate accounts in the GL Account Maintenance (GMM) program.
Exit general ledger statistics	Click OK. See Display Executive Information Summary Statistics.
Exit and return to the menu	Click Quit.
