Background: Accounting Period Maintenance

Use the Accounting Period Maintenance (GDM) program to add and change the period-ending dates for accounting periods and years. See Road Map for work flow.

You can change the ending date of an open period but not of a closed period.

You cannot delete an accounting year that has open periods or history.

Warning Message

If you are in the last posted period of the fiscal year and the general ledger calendar for the next year has not been set up, the system displays a warning message if the user:

• Logs on to the system (message does not block program access)

• Enters a User transaction date in the Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) program that is greater than the last posting period.
