Change a Period-Ending Date
Use the Accounting Period Maintenance (GDM) program to add and change the period-ending dates for accounting periods and years. See Background and Road Map for more information.
Note
Only one person can run this program at a time. You cannot run this program
if another user is running the GL Recalculation (GLR) or GL Period-End
Closing (GME) program.
The program displays these fields:

Select the year you want to change and click Select. The program displays the ending date, status, and period descriptions for each period of the year. The program displays 12 or 13 periods, depending on the number of accounting periods set up in your system.
Click Modify.
Select a different ending date for a period.
Note
You can change the ending date only for an open period. The program displays CLOSED to the right of periods that are closed.
If you selected the 13th period adjustment only? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (General Ledger Options), select an ending date that is one or more days after the ending date for period 12.Choose the appropriate options:

When you make a change and click OK, the program displays the message GL recalculation will be performed now.
Click OK to acknowledge. The program regroups transactions to the new periods and recalculates the net change for the GL accounts.
