Road Map: Barcode Labor Entry

Use the Barcode Labor Entry (LRTE) program to start work and enter pieces. The system clock calculates time worked. See Background for more information.

Before you run this program each time

You should run these programs:

  • Employee Clocking (LTE) program to clock into the facility.

  • Shop Paper Print (MSP) program to print the shop paper from which to scan the manufacture order number. Select YES for Print barcode? program option.

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Manufacturing Options) to select L for L=Labor entry or W=WIP movement for your manufacturing branch.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Enterprise Options) to select a date display format for your enterprise, Branch Maintenance (TBM) to select a date display format for your branch, or User Maintenance (UIM) to select a date display format for an individual user.

  • (Optional) System Options Maintenance (XM) (Labor Options) to select Enter percentage complete?, Non reported indirect labor code, Jump to shift start/stop?, Clock in/out active?, Include checksum on employee ID? for your enterprise.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices that you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

  • Department Codes Maintenance (TDP) to set up department codes and select who should receive email notifications.

  • Labor Collection Shift Codes Maintenance (LLZ) to set up shift parameters for each employee.

  • Employee Maintenance (LSA) to select crew leaders and shifts.

  • Crew List Maintenance (LTEC) to set up crew leaders with crew members.

  • Employee Badge Print (LBP) to print badges used to clock in and out of the facility.

  • Labor Reference Code Maintenance (TLBR) to set up codes to describe issues that could impact the production rate.

  • Indirect Labor Codes Maintenance (TLI) to set up codes for indirect labor.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • Barcode Labor Inquiry (LRTQ) for supervisors to see who is clocked into a manufacturing order.

  • Employee Clocking Inquiry (LTEQ) for supervisors to see who is clocked into the facility.

  • Labor Bonus Exceptions (LLBE) if a supervisor needs to change the bonus eligibility flag on employee labor transactions.

  • Labor Bonus Report (LMR) program to list employee bonuses.

  • Barcode Labor Management Sign Out (LRTM) to clock out an employee who is clocked into a manufacturing order.
