Display a BOM for a Configured Product

Use the Configured Product Inquiry (MBQ) program to display a bill of material for a configured product or family forecast bill of material. See Road Map for work flow.

  1. Enter the number of parent item whose bill of material you want to display or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item number from a list. The item's description, item type, and status are displayed. For family items, popularity total (sum of component popularities) also displays.

The program displays the list of components on the BOM and these fields:

The stocking unit of measure

The frequency with which this component is ordered compared to alternative components on the bill of material

The quantity of this component required to build one parent item

For an accessory or prompt whose type is Acc, Reqd, or Opt, displays:

: Once, limiting the customer to order one

: Multiple times, allowing the customer to order more than one

Sequence number

The order in which components will be selected in the Sales Order Maintenance (OE), One-Step Invoice Entry (RE), and EDI/Sales Quote Maintenance (QOE) programs unless the operator selects the item number order program option

Operation seq-no

If you backflush picking, the operation sequence at which the system picks this component. For example, if this component is not required until the third operation, enter that sequence number.

If blank and you selected the Backflush comps not attached to oper? option for your manufacturing branch in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Manufacturing Options), the system picks this component when you enter pieces completed for the first operation
