Close a Manufacturing Order

Use the Manufacturing Order Maintenance (MIM) program to enter, change or close regular manufacturing and rework and repair orders. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter the manufacturing order number or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the manufacturing order from a list.

  2. Click Close order.

Depending on the status of the order, the program may prompt Continue with close?

  1. Click Yes to continue with the close or click No to exit without closing when you encounter these messages:

When you click Yes to close, the order is closed

This order has pre-assigned control numbers; if you close it, these numbers cannot be re-used; continue with close?

 

This is a one-step order that has been picked and shop paper has already been printed; continue with close?

Picked components are returned to inventory.

Components are in picking; continue with close?

The components in picking will be returned to inventory and obligation reversed.

This order has components that have been picked; continue with close?

Confirmation and obligation will be reversed.
For a rework order, parent and components are returned to inventory.

This order has components that have been obligated; continue with close?

Obligation will be reversed.

This order is linked to mfg order [order number]; continue with close?

Cascading orders will remain intact, but requisitions will be deleted.

This order is linked to demand order(s); continue with close?

Demand orders remain intact.

This mfg order has parent mfg ord no [order number]; continue with close?

 

Picking has been confirmed; continue with close?

Picked components are returned to inventory.

  1. Select a reason code for the Reason code field. The program prompts Is the reason code correct?

  2. Click OK to confirm or click Cancel to exit without closing. See Manufacturing Order Maintenance.
