Background: Standard Operation Maintenance
Use the Standard Operation Maintenance (ROM) program to create or change or delete standard operations. See Road Map for work flow.
Standard operations are processes that are used to manufacture more than one item. Standard operation records do not include fields for a department number, move time, or send ahead quantity. Operations are either regular, batch, indirect, outside service or unattended. See Operation Types.
When you use a standard operation in a routing, you must use the Routing Maintenance (RTM) program to enter these fields.
You can use the Standard Operation Maintenance program to change fields in a standard operation at any time. However, to change an operation code or operation type, you must delete the standard operation and re-enter it. However, you cannot delete a standard operation if it is part of any routing.
