Update a Forecast

Use the Forecast Update (MFU) program to update item forecasts based on the New forecast and Ext fcst by mo fields in the Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) program. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Set your options:

  1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries for more information.

  1. Click the Selection tab to select specific records.

  1. Select your manufacturing branch for the Branch or branch grp option.

  2. (Optional) Enter a range of item numbers.

    OR

    Click List to enter items that are not numbered consecutively. See Create a List of Items.

  1. Click the Program tab to set these program specific options:

Select the date for the first forecast period or enter a date shortcut.

This date must match the period you choose for the Select forecast by field. In other words, if you select W for week, the date must be the first day in a week. If you select M for month, the date must be the first day of the month. If you select T for template, the date must be the start date of a period.

Select forecast by

Select W for week, M for month, or T for template to use periods that you have set up in the Forecast Period Maintenance (MST) program.

If you select T and no template exists, the program will be unable to update the forecast.

  1. Choose the appropriate options:

Click Process.

Saves these options for future use

Click Save.

Enter a list of items that are not consecutively numbered

Click List.

Note
You must select your manufacturing branch for the Branch or branch grp selection option.

Exit the program

Click Exit.
