Road Map: Accumulated Lead Time Calculation

Use the Accumulated Lead Time Calculation (MLT) program to calculate critical-path lead times for parent items in bills of material and print a report. See Background for more information.

Before you run this program each time

You should run these programs:

  • Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) to enter lead times in the Mfg LT and Order prep LT fields for items that you make and in the Order prep LT, Intransit LT, and Put-away LT fields for items that you purchase.

Before you run this program the first time

You should run these programs:

  • Branch Item Maintenance (IMB) to select I (include queue and move times) or E (exclude queue and move times) for the LT update field for the parent item and all its components.

  • Bill of Material Maintenance (MPS) to set up bills of material.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices that you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • Component Availability Inquiry (MOS) to display the requirements for a manufacturing order against current supplies of component items.

  • Finished Goods Planning (MFP) program to calculate quantities of finished goods and configured products that you need to meet sales commitments and forecasts and to schedule their manufacture or purchase.
