Set Address Validation Interface Options

PowerShift interfaces to address validation software from these companies:

Select Address Validation in System Options Maintenance (XM) to set these options for your enterprise:

Select an address validation software package.

If you select AVALARA, you must set up credentials on the Sales Tax Interface screen.

Address interface administrator

Select a user ID to receive email messages pertaining to the address validation interface.

Notification device

Conditional

Select a device for notifications about the address validation interface. The device must be email (device type L Email) with 6 HTML in body of the email selected as the Email attachment format in Output Device Maintenance.

Account/User name

Conditional

Enter your account or user name as set up in the address validation software package. The name must match the credentials created on the processor’s database.

Account password/license

Conditional

Enter the account password or license as set up in the address validation software package. The password/license must match the credentials created on the processor’s database.

Site name/URL

Conditional

Enter the address validation package's URL site if using a URL site. SmartyStreets, for example, is:
https://us-street.api.smartystreets.com/street-address

Timeout (ms)

Optional

Enter the number of milliseconds to wait for a response from the address validation software. If a response it not received within this time frame, the request is aborted. The default timeout is 5000 ms (i.e., 5 seconds).

Work directory

Enter a valid native file directory to create a work file for the address validation.

Not required for Avalara; required for all other interfaces.

Work disk

Enter the disk label for the work directory.

Not required for Avalara; required for all other interfaces.

The address validation package expects country codes using the ISO 2-character country code standard.

The address validation package requires a standard 3-character country code standard.

If 3 is selected, the Alternate ISO std code in Country Codes Maintenance (TCC) must be set to the 3-character code.

Click the desired field and make the change.

Save changes and leave the screen displayed

Click Apply.

Exit without changing these options

Click Cancel.

Print these options

Click Print. See Print an Inquiry.

Test the link between the address validation software URL and client credentials

Click Test. The test sends an address for validation and displays the results. Successful address validation indicates that the link is set up correctly.

Accept these options and exit

Click OK.
