Background: Engineering Change Order Codes Maintenance
-
Use the ECO Signoff Codes Maintenance (TESO) program to add engineering change order signoff codes that you can use for managing and implementing engineering change orders with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the ECO Change Type Maintenance (TETOC) program to add change type codes that you can use for managing and implementing engineering change orders with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the ECO Compliance Codes Maintenance (TECOM) program to add compliance codes that you can use for managing and implementing engineering change orders with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the ECO Effectivity Codes Maintenance (TEIMP) program to add effectivity codes that you can use for managing and implementing engineering change orders with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the ECO Rate Codes (TECORT) program to set the amount of costs and the description for each code that you want to display in the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the ECO Priority Codes (TEPR) program to add change type codes that you can use to prioritize engineering change orders with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program.
-
Use the Reason Codes Maintenance (TRCM) program to add codes for the reason an engineering change order is closed, to help you manage and implement engineering change orders.
This topic has these subtopics:
Approvals
Signoff Codes
Cost/Rate Types
ECO Maintenance
Approvals
You control who will be approving the change based on the selected signoffs. Signoffs refer to the job titles or functions. The normal approval hierarchy and approval maintenance applications (APPHM, APPM) are used to set up the individuals who will be approving an ECO.
Signoff Codes
Create your signoff codes in the ECO Signoff Codes Maintenance (TESO) program so they will be available for selection when you create your implementation, compliance, and change type codes.
Cost/Rate Types
Costs can be quantity or hours related to the rate and can include any costs associated with the implementation of the ECO. This can include: engineering time, outside testing / approval, scrapping of existing inventory, and reworking inventory.
ECO Maintenance
When you create an engineering change order with the ECO Maintenance (ECO) program, you can indicate who authorized or pre-approved it. The first four lines of notes coded to print “Before (B print code)” are used to identify the basic reason for the engineering change. You then select the appropriate priority, compliance, implementation, signoff and change type codes entered in the table programs.
