Print the Rejected Material Disposition Register

Use the Rejected Material Disposition Register (VBJ) program to print a list of rejected and disposed materials and update the general ledger if you have inventory interfaced to the GL. See Background, Overview: Interfacing Inventory to GL, and Road Map for more information.

The program summarized in-process batches:

  1. Choose the appropriate options:

Start a new batch

Click Add. See step 2.

Delete a batch

Highlight the batch and click Delete. See Delete.

Review, change or update a batch

Highlight the batch and click Select or double click the line. See step 3.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

  1. The program prompts Batch.

    Enter NEW or # if you want the program to assign the next available batch number to track this group of disposed materials. Use the Batch Number Setup (XBC) program to set up a batch numbering scheme.

    OR

    Enter a unique identifier (12 alphanumeric characters maximum) for the batch you want to create. You can do this only if the Allow manual assignment? option in Batch Number Setup is selected for this program.

  2. Accept the displayed branch group, enter your branch, or click the Lookup icon. If Allow br grp ovrd? is selected in your record in the User Maintenance (UIM), you can click Group to select a branch group from a list. If Allow br grp ovrd? is not selected, you can only select a branch.

Click Delele. See Delete.

Maintain the list of MRB tags selected for this batch

Click Tags. See Select Rejected Material Disposition Tags for Register.

Select all MRB tags for this branch or branch group

Click All.

Return to the list of batches

Click OK.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

  1. Click Register. Set your options for the Rejected Material Disposition Register.

    1. Click the Runtime tab to set runtime options. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries for more information.

Register printing and GL journal printing and updating is controlled by the Runtime options you selected and by system options (maintained in System Options Mainteance - GL Journal Options).

Based on these options, you may not see the prompts described below.

Save these options for future use

Click Save.

Redisplay current options

Click Refresh.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

Based on your options, the preview Interface Journal displays or prints immediately after the preview register.

The program displays the message No GL reg to print when a disposition has no impact on inventory accounts.

The program prompts Register is correct, proceed with update?

  1. Click OK if the register is correct or click Cancel if it is not.

    If you selected the Inventory interfaced to GL? system option (in System Options Maintenance - Inventory Control Options), when you click OK the program updates the general ledger and displays the message GL journal GJY [number] has been created.

  1. (Conditional) Click OK to acknowledge the journal number.

If you selected the Print journal after register? option for this journal in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (GL Journal Options), the final register prints.

If you selected R for the Post from R=Register or J=Journal option for this journal in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (GL Journal Options), the register updates the general ledger.
