Display Work Centers

Use the Work Center Inquiry (WCQ) program to display work centers. See Road Map for work flow.

If you displayed this screen from another program, go to step 1.

The program displays these fields:

Field Name

Displays

Work ctr

The work center number; VENDOR for an outside service

Mach no

The machine number at this work center; vendor number for an outside service

Dept no

The department number responsible for this work center

Description

The description of the operation that takes place at this work center; the vendor's name for an outside service

Mach cap

The number of hours per day this machine is available for productive use at this work center

Shfs

The number of shifts per day

Wkrs

The number of people who operate this work center per shift

Queue

The number of shop days a job generally spends in a queue before being processed

  1. Select a work center and click Select.

Critical?

Selected: This work center is critical

Typically, a "critical" work center is one that requires careful workload planning; for example, an overloaded center or a bottleneck.

Picking warehouse

If you selected the Backflush components by operation seq? and Use only inventory in work center loc? options for your manufacturing branch in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Manufacturing Options), the warehouse from which the system picks components

Picking bin

If you selected the Backflush components by operation seq? and Use only inventory in work center loc? options for your manufacturing branch in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Manufacturing Options), the bin location from which the system picks components; if blank, backflush components from any available bin

Machine lbr cd

The labor rate code and rate for an unattended operation; if blank, the system uses the Setup labor cd in the unattended operation's record in the Routing Maintenance (RTM) program

Overhead code 1 - 4

Four overhead rate codes and rates that apply to this work center but not to an outside service

Mach capacity

The number of hours per shop day this machine is available for productive use at this work center

Mach util %

The percent of time that the machine is use

Labor capacity

The number of hours per shop day that workers are at this work center

Labor util %

The percent of time workers at this work center are actually performing setup or direct labor; maintenance and cleaning are usually excluded from the utilization percent

Labor eff %

The labor efficiency percent: (Hours per piece x Pieces produced) / Hours spent on production) x 100

This is a reference only field and not used in processing.

Workers

The number of employees who operate this work center per shift; this number does not affect labor capacity

Shifts

The number of shifts per shop day for this work center

Queue time

The number of shop days a job generally spends in a queue before being processed

Stocking warehouse

Enter the warehouse where items controlled by location are stocked if you are using the "stock at last operation" feature (selected by item in Branch Item Maintenance) and the item is warehouse/bin controlled.

Stocking bin

Enter the bin where items controlled by location are stocked if you are using the "stock at last operation" feature (selected by item in Branch Item Maintenance) and the item is warehouse/bin controlled.

Click Notes. See Display Notes.

Display data in custom fields your company uses

Click User.

Note
This button displays only if you have set up user fields for Work Center Maintenance (WCM) program in the User Fields Maintenance (XMO) program.

Display utilization exceptions

Click Utilization. See Enter Utilization Exceptions. When utilization exceptions exist, a green check mark appears on the Utilitzation button.

Display tool availability

Click Tools. See Display Tools Associated with a Parent Item.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.

Click Print. See Print.

Sort the listing by department, description, or machine number

Click Sort Options. Click a sort order or click Cancel to end this action.

Exit the program

Click Exit or Quit.
