Enter Utilization Exceptions

Use the Work Center Maintenance (WCM) program to create, change, copy, and delete work centers, and enter work center utilization exceptions. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Enter the work center number (6 alphanumeric) or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the work center from a list.

  2. Select the work center-machine number and click Select.

  3. Click Utilization.

  4. Click Add if utilization records exist. The program prompts Begin date.

    Note

    The capacity planning and priority dispatch programs use this data. If you do not maintain utilization records, these programs use the standard machine and labor percentages from the work center record.

  5. Select a date for when the utilization exception starts or enter a date shortcut. You can enter utilization for dates in the past, today, and the future. However the capacity planning programs only use the utilization data from today forward.

  6. Enter data in these fields:

Accept the displayed time to begin the utilization exception or enter a different time. Enter the time in the 24-hour format hh:mm:ss.

Accept the displayed date as the end date of the utilization exception or enter a different date. This date must be the same or after the Begin date.

Enter the time the utilization exception ends. Enter the time in the 24-hour format hh:mm:ss. This time coupled with the Ending date must be after the Begin date and time.

Hours down

Optional
7 numeric in the format 99999.99

Enter the number of hours this machine is not accessible.

Mach util %

Required
5 numeric in the format 999.99

Enter the machine utilization exception percent.

Labor util %

Required
5 numeric in the format 999.99

Enter the labor utilization exception percent.

Click the field and make changes.

Delete a saved record

Click Delete.

Exit without saving this record

Click Cancel. The program prompts Begin date. Select another date or leave blank to exit.

Enter notes

Click Notes. See Enter Notes.

Change the Sequence number field

Click Change no.

Accept the data and exit

Click OK. The program prompts Begin date. Select another date or leave blank to exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:

Delete the selected utilization record

Copy the selected utilization record

Click Copy. See Copy.

Display the selected utilization record

Click Select.

Print the utilization listing

Click Print. See Print.

Exit utilization records

Click Exit.

Exit and return to the menu

Click Quit.

Associate a tool with a work center

Click Tools. See Associate a Tool with a Work Center.

This option requires entries in the Warehouse code and Bin location fields.

Accept the data

Click OK. The program prompts Work center no and Machine number. Enter another work center or leave blank to exit.

Exit without creating this work center

Click Cancel. The program prompts Work center no and Machine number. Enter another work center or leave blank to exit.

Update the record

Click Apply.

Delete a saved record

Click Delete. See Delete.

Enter notes for this work center

Click Notes. See Enter Notes.

Enter data in custom fields your company uses

Click User. See Enter Data in User and Shadow File Fields.

This button displays only if you have set up user fields for this program in the User Fields Maintenance (XMO) program.

Enter utilization exceptions

Click Utilization. See Enter Utilization Exceptions. When utilization exceptions exist, a green check mark appears on the Utilitzation button.

  1. Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:

Copy the selected work center

Click Copy. See Copy.

Display the selected work center

Click Select.

Print the work center listing

Click Print. See Print.

Sort the listing by department, description, or machine number

Click Sort Options. Click a sort order or click Cancel to end this action.

Exit the work center

Click Exit.

  1. Enter another work center number or exit the program.
