Scrap or Reject Components

When you click Comp scrap in the WIP Movement (WIPM) or Labor Entry (LLE) program, you can select one or more components to scrap or you can reject these components and let the Material Review Board determine their disposition.

Notes

The program displays these fields for all non-floor stock components in the item's bill of material:

A check mark indicates this component is selected to be scrapped or rejected

The identifier your company uses to distinguish multiple occurrences of a component in the same bill of material

Seq

The sequence number of the component assigned when the manufacturing order was created

The description of the component

Qty picked

The quantity of this component that has been picked

Scrapped

The quantity of this component that has been scrapped

Rejected

The quantity of this component that has been rejected

Click Prog opts. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries.

Select a component to scrap or reject

Highlight the line and click Select or double click the line. A check mark indicates the component is selected. Click Select or double click the line again to de-select the component.

If the component is controlled by lot or serial number, the program prompts you to select the control number(s) to scrap.

Select control numbers to scrap

Click Ctrl comp sc. See Scrap Controlled Components.

If the program displays the message No detail found, you have tied this component to an operation sequence after the one you are entering. You cannot scrap a component until you enter its sequence.

Scrap or reject the selected component

Click Exit.

Enter the quantity you are rejecting.

You will be prompted for the Rejection reason code and the MRB tag to be assigned. If you select Cancel when prompted to verify entered rejection information, the entire rejection entry is cancelled.

Note
If the numbering system setup for MRB tags does not allow override, the next tag number is assigned without operator intervention. If override is allowed, you can enter a unique tag number or NEW or # to have the next tag number assigned.
