Add or Change a Material Issue/Adjustment

Use the Material Issues and Adjustments (IMI) program to adjust or issue inventory and print the Inventory Adjustments Register and update the general ledger if you have inventory interfaced to the GL. See Background, PowerAide, and Road Map for more information.

Note
You cannot adjust inventory for models or service items. If you need to adjust the on-hand balance for a model, find the appropriate manufacturing order and reverse its receipt. Adjustments to the sales order and manufacturing order can then be made and a different quantity can be received to stock.

  1. Click New or enter NEW or # if you want the program to assign the next available issue/adjust number. Use Batch Number Setup to specify a batch numbering scheme. See Adjust or Issue Inventory.

    OR

    Enter a unique identifier (12 alphanumeric characters maximum) for the issue/adjustment you want to create. You can do this only if the Allow manual assignment? option is selected for this program in Batch Number Setup. See Adjust or Issue Inventory.

    OR

    Enter the issue/adjustment number to change or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list. The user that created the issue/adjustment and the date and time it was created is displayed. If the issue/adjustment was subsequently changed, the user and date of the change is also displayed.

  2. Choose the appropriate options:

Print the Inventory Adjustment Register

Click Register. See Print the Inventory Adjustment Register.

Set option that controls whether or not an entry in the a Reference field is required

Click Prog opts. See Set Program Options for Material Issues and Adjustments.

Specify a different a issue/adjustment number

Click OK.

Exit the program

Click Exit.

  1. The lines on the issue/adjustment are listed. If the adjustment has no lines, the program prompts for the item to issue/adjust. See Adjust or Issue Inventory.

Change existing information

Highlight a line and click Select or double click the line. See Adjust or Issue Inventory.

Print the list

Click Print.

Return to the adjustment header

Click OK. See step 2.
