View Current ECO Bill of Material

When you click View Current BOM, the bill of material at the "Old ECL" is displayed. The header includes:

Field Name

Displays

Parent item no

The parent item of the displayed bill

ECL

The old ECL

Desc

The description of the parent item; the status of the ECO is displayed to the right of the description

Eng drawing no

The drawing number for the old ECL; if blank, the drawing number for the parent is displayed

Bill audited date

The date of the last bill of material audit

Bill auditor

The person who completed the last bill of material audit

Eng appr date

The date the bill was approved by engineering

QA appr date

The date the bill was approved by quality assurance

Mfg appr date

The date the bill was approved by manufacturing

Bill of material component information is displayed:

The component item number

Description

The component's description

Part des

The identifier your company uses if this component is to be listed on this bill of material more than once. Examples: balloon number, bubble number, file number, material tag, or reference number

The quantity of this component required to build one parent

Matl cost

The component's standard material cost
Stk UOM The component's stocking unit of measure

Type

The component type; this field is not used by PowerShift, but it may be used for custom reporting
Ref cd The component's reference code
Op seq

The operation sequence number at which this component is used

M/B/K

The component's make/buy/kit flag value

LLC

The component's low level code
Lead time The component's lead time
Effective The date the component started being used in building this parent
Expiration The date after which the component will not be used in building this parent
Revised The date the component was changed
Comp ref

The reference entered when the BOM was created

Click Prog opts. See Set Options for Reports and Inquiries.

Change a component item or its attributes

Click Modify BOM and select an action. If changes are on file they are listed. Options enable you to:

  • Add more changes
  • Delete an existing change
  • Copy an existing change
  • Select a change and modify the associated elements
  • Restart the component list base on action, component and part designator
  • Print the list of changes
  • Display the next or previous page
  • Exit maintenance and return to the component list
  • Quit maintenance and return to the parent item display

Click Print. See Print.

Return to the previous screen

Click OK.

Modify BOM

When modifying an existing ECO bill of material, you can add a new component, delete an existing component or change attributes of an existing component.

  • Delete an Existing Component
    Select the Delete action then enter the component and part designator to be deleted. The combination of component and part designator must be valid (i.e., must exist on the current BOM).

  • Change Component Attributes
    Select the Change action and enter a component and part designator that exists on the current ECO bill. Two columns are displayed with the initial values; alter the values in the first column as you would Change a Bill of Material in Bill of Material Maintenance (MPS).
