Document Management: Advanced Features Setup
Beyond outputting documents, advanced features of the Document Management System take you toward a paperless office by enabling you to import external documents and archive documents produced by PowerShift. A comprehensive document search function is available as well. Advanced document management features require a system password for PS DOC MGMT.

Set system parameters for document archiving in Help & Other Path Options. For example:
Document archive path: /usr/qicware/native/xfr/arc/
Document viewing path: file://banana/xfr/arc/
You can specify different subfolders for every document in Document Output Parameters Maintenance (TDOC). It should end with / (forward slash). For example:
Archive path/folder: sales/
The subfolder path is constructed using the Document archive path (in Help & Other Path Options) path plus the Archive path/folder relative path (in Document Output Parameters Maintenance).For each document copy, you can elect to archive the original print only or every print.
Set parameters for archiving copies of GL journals and registers in GL Journal Options.
Document Import
Select Document import active? and specify the import directory in Document Import/Search Options.
Optionally, you can set up different categories and subfolders for imported documents in Imported Document Types. If a subfolder is not specifed, the default path is used.
Document Search
The document search feature requires Solr, an open source enterprise search platform developed by the Apache Software Foundation.
Select Document search active? and select SOLR Apache Solr as the document search package in Document Import/Search Options.

Document viewing path: file:\\banana\xfr\arc\
You can specify different subfolders for every document in Document Output Parameters Maintenance (TDOC). The subfolder path is constructed using the base path plus the relative path. For example:
