Road Map: Output Device Maintenance

Use the Output Device Maintenance (XDM) program to add or change and delete devices that users can select to output documents, reports, and inquiries. See Background for more information.

You should run these programs:

  • Audit Trail Maintenance (XAT) to activate logging of additions, changes, and deletions made with this program.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • User Maintenance (UIM) to set up user records and select a default printer.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

  • Document Output Parameters Maintenance (TDOC) to set output parameters for each document type.

  • Customer Document Profile Maintenance (CDM) to define how you output documents to a customer.

  • Vendor Document Profile Maintenance (VDM) to define how you output documents to a vendor.

  • Branch Document Profile Maintenance (TDM) to define how you output documents to another branch.

  • Audit Trails (ATR) print a report that shows additions, changes, and deletions made with this program.

  • (Optional) Job Schedule Maintenance (JOBS) to create a job stream to maintain the spooler for the PDF viewer device.

  • Any print program.
