Using QANTEL Print Connector

The QANTEL Print Connector allows you to configure a single physical printer with different device names and outputs. For example, you can configure one laser print as:

For more information, see the Introduction to the QANTEL® Print Connector for QICWARE®.

When you set up printers in Output Device Maintenance, you can select Auto properties to use the lines per page, lines per inch, and characters per inch for this device. You can also override the QANTEL Print Connector properties by leaving Auto properties blank and entering values in the Lines per page, Lines per inch, and Characters per inch fields.

Not Using QANTEL Print Connector

If you are not using the QANTEL Print Connector, the device's driver determines the lines per page, lines per inch, and characters per inch. Consult your printer's documentation before you enter values in the Lines per page, Lines per inch, and Characters per inch fields. Output is limited by the driver. Therefore, changing the values in these fields will not change the printer's output.

Setting Up an Auto Launch PDF Viewer

The qwadmin must be part of the apache group and the user apache must be part of the qicware group.

To set up the symbolic link using Red Had Linux, assuming that pdf spool directory is PDF on disk SPL:

  1. Log in as root.

  2. Enter cd/var/www/html.

  3. Enter ln -s /home/qicware/spl/qpdf qpdf.

  4. Restart your apache server.

Audit Trail

To activate an audit trail, select one of the files listed below in the Audit Trail Maintenance (XAT) program. The system records all transactions. You can then run the Audit Trails (ATR) program and select that file to print a report of these transactions.
