Background: Date-Output Device Maintenance

Use the Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) program to set your default output device and change your user transaction date for the current terminal session. See Road Map for work flow.

If you selected the Prompt date/output device during login? option in the System Options Maintenance (XM) program (Enterprise Options), the Date-Output Device Maintenance program runs when you login, allowing you to change the fields.

This topic has these subtopics:

User Transaction Date

Allow Device Override

User Transaction Date

When you login, the LOGON program sets the User transaction date field to the system date. You can use the Date-Output Device Maintenance program to change the User transaction date field for the current terminal session so that you can adjust dates for accounting transactions. When you finish making adjustments, log off and log on again to reset your date to the system login date.

General Ledger Calendar

If you are in the last posted period of the fiscal year and the general ledger calendar for the next year has not been set up and you enter a date that is greater than the last posting period, the program displays a warning message No GL calendar set up for [date]. Use the Accounting Period Maintenance (GDM) program to change the period-ending dates for accounting periods.

Allow Device Override

When you login, the LOGON program sets the Default output device field to device selected in the Printer field in your user record in the User Maintenance (UIM) program.

If you always print to the same device, leave the Allow device override? field blank. When you click Print, the print program prints the report, listing, or register immediately to your default output device.

If you select the Allow device override? field, the program prompts Output device when you click Print. You can press Tab or Enter to print to the default device or enter the name of a different device.
