Road Map: Product Class Codes Maintenance

Use the Product Class Codes Maintenance (TPC) program to add, change, copy, and delete codes that you can use as criteria for posting inventory transactions to the general ledger and for calculating sales prices and commissions. See Background for more information.

  • Posting Criteria Maintenance (XPC) to set posting criteria and accounts for posting to the general ledger. COGS-LABR, COGS-MATL, COGS-OS, COGS-OVHD, COMM ACCRU, COMM EXP, COST VAR, FLOORSTOCK, IN TRANSIT, INV SCRAP, INVENTORY, INVTY ADJ, INVTY EXP, INVTY VAR, LABOR ADJ, LABOR BURD, LABOR-INDR, LABOR-PREM, LABOR-REWK, LABOR-SICK, LABOR-VAC, LABR BURAJ, LBR BRDSCR, LBR EFFVAR, LBR RT VAR, LBR SCRAP, LBR_ACCDBL, LBR-ACCHOL, LBR-ACCOVT, LBR-ACCPAY, LBR-ACCSIC, LBR-ACCVAC, LBR-BRDAPP, LBR-CONPAY, MFG CSTVAR, MFG VAR, MISC REV, MRB, PUR VAR, REVENUE, RMA RETURN, SALES TAX1 - 10, SURCHARGES, TRADE DISC, WIP ADJ, WIP ADJEXP, WIP CLEAR, WIP LABOR, WIP MATL, WIP MCH OH, WIP OS, and WIP OVHEAD can use this code.

  • Enterprise Item Maintenance (IM) to set up inventory items for your enterprise and select a product class.

  • System Options Maintenance (XM) (Inventory Control Options) to set the Inventory interfaced to GL? option.

  • Output Device Maintenance (XDM) to set up the output devices you plan to use.

  • Date-Output Device Maintenance (ZE) to select your default output device and set whether you can override that device.

  • Sales Commission Hierarchy Maintenance (SCHM) to set up a sales rep or commission rate hierarchy based on product class.

  • (Conditional) Price-Contract Maintenance (PCM) to enter a price, discount, or surcharge record if you selected product class as a pricing, discount, or surcharge method in your hierarchy in Price Hierarchy Maintenance (PHM).

  • (Conditional) Standard Labor Rates Maintenance (TLR) to set up labor rate codes and their corresponding rates.

  • (Conditional) Overhead Rate Codes Maintenance (TORC) to set up overhead rate codes and a rate percent.

After you run this program

You will most likely run these programs:

  • Pricing by Product Class & Customer Type (PRC) to enter a price quotation for a new item or a new customer.

  • Sales by Product Class (SPC) print a list of sales shipments by product class.
