Enter a Family for Forecasting

Use the Configured Product Maintenance (MBM) program to enter, change, and copy a bill of material for a configured product or enter a family for forecasting. See Background and Road Map for more information.

Enter the number of the parent item for this bill of material or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the item from a list.
Click Add.
Enter data in these fields:

Comp item no	Required 24 alphanumeric	Enter the item number of a component or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select a part, subassembly, accessory, or an option from the list, as defined on the bill of material for this parent item.

Accept 1 (100%) or enter a different percentage for the forecast factor.

You must enter a value other than zero if you want the Finished Goods Planning (MFP) program to include the item in a production forecast for the parent.

Accept all other field entries.

Choose the appropriate options:

To	Do This
Change a field	Click Modify.
Delete a saved record	Click Delete. See Delete.
Exit without entering this component	Click Cancel. The program prompts Comp item no. Enter another component or leave blank to exit.
Enter notes for this component	Click Notes. See Enter Notes.
Go to a related program	Click Jump. See Jump.
Add or change operations	Click Operations.
Change the bill of material for this subassembly	Click Comp bill. If the item type of the parent is finished good, MRP dependent, or phantom, see Enter a Bill of Material. Note This button displays only if this component has a BOM.
Accept the data	Click OK. The program prompts Comp item no. Enter another component or leave blank to exit.
Exit and return to the menu	Click Quit.

Choose the appropriate options when you click OK or Cancel:

Add another component	Click Add.
Delete the selected component	Click Delete. See Delete.
Display the selected component	Click Select.
Display components from a specific component	Click Restart. The program prompts specific data based on your sort options. Enter the first record you want to display or leave the fields blank to begin with the first record in the file.
Print the component list	Click Print. See Print.
Display the previous set of records in the file	Click Page up.
Display the next set of records in the file	Click Page down.
Sort the component listing by sequence number or part designator	Click Sort options. Click a sort order or click Cancel to end this action.
Copy the bill of material to create a new BOM	Click Bill copy. See Copy a BOM for a Configured Product.
Exit this parent item	Click Exit.
Exit and return to the menu	Click Quit.

When you click Exit, enter another parent item number or exit the program.
