Create an Operation for a Configured Product

When you click Operations in the Configured Product Maintenance (MBM) program, you can create a new operation, change, copy, and delete an existing operation. See Background and Road Map for more information.

  1. Click Add. The program prompts Operation seq no.

  2. Enter a operation sequence number to indicate the order of this operation in the manufacture of this item. Operations print in sequence on shop paper.

You can enter up to 9999 operations. However, you should increment sequences by a number greater than 1 so that you can insert operations at a later date.

  1. Enter a unique code for this operation or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the standard operation code from a list.

If you enter a unique code, the program assumes you are creating a new operation.

  1. Select an Operation type. The program prompts Make this a standard operation? (Yes/N).

  2. Accept Y to make this a standard operation or enter N to not make this a standard operation.

  1. Enter a work center number or click the Lookup icon and use the standard lookup options to select the work center from a list.

The fields that display depend on the operation type you select.
